NewGround Law advises Deka Immobilien on the sale of ‘De Resident’ in The Hague to Rijksvastgoedbedrijf

Deka Immobilien has successfully sold the office property ‘De Resident’ in The Hague as part of their continuous portfolio optimization which includes the acquisition of the new headquarters of Booking.com in Amsterdam at the end of 2022. Deka Immobilien places special emphasis on complying with current and future ESG standards, which often require extensive modernization work on older properties.

Deka Immobilien acquired ‘de Resident’, located at Parnassusplein 5-135, in 1996 as a renovation and redevelopment project. The complex of property comprises 53,000 sq m of lettable office space, five retail units on the Turfmarkt and the Helicon underground parking garage. The Dutch government, (ministerie van Volksgezondheid, Welzijn en Sport (VWS) and the ministerie van Sociale Zaken en Werkgelegenheid (SZW)), is tenant of the 104 sq m tall skyscraper Castalia occupying 93% of the space with a lease agreement until 2029. The achieved selling price amounts to €217 million. The buyer is the Rijksvastgoedbedrijf (RVB), the central government real estate agency of the Netherlands.
